Homeless Shelter Supervisor

Northwood Health Systems is currently seeking a Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight at our homeless shelter located in Wheeling, WV.  This position offers the opportunity to support vulnerable individuals by ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant operation of the facility. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring adherence to program policies and procedures, supporting client safety, and addressing operational issues as they arise. Duties include supervising admission screening processes, enforcing shelter rules and procedures, and serving as the on-site point of contact during assigned shifts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• High School diploma or GED, preferred
• Experience working with mental health and/or substance use populations, preferred
• Valid Driver's License
• Must pass a background check

Responsibilities:

• Oversee new staff orientation and ensure ongoing staff training and professional development remain current and compliant.
• Serve as a community and interagency liaison to secure appropriate services, resources, and opportunities for clients.
• Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance across all aspects of the program.
• Serve as a role model by demonstrating professional, ethical, and compassionate staff-client relationships and strong teamwork.
