Billing Supervisor

Northwood Health Systems is currently seeking a full-time Billing Supervisor to lead our billing team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of all patient accounts. The Billing Supervisor will oversee daily billing operations, coordinate and monitor staff performance, and work to improve efficiency in payment collection and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise billing staff and assign daily tasks to ensure productivity and accuracy.
• Oversee the collection of payments from primary/secondary insurance companies and patients.
• Monitor and follow up on all unpaid balances, ensuring timely resolution.
• Approve and oversee resubmission of incorrect or denied claims.
• Review and manage various collection and aging reports.
• Ensure accurate posting of electronic and/or manual payments, transfers, adjustments, and write-offs to patient accounts.
• Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to billing team members.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies and improve workflow.
• Maintain compliance with applicable billing regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Previous experience required, in medical billing and collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proficient in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under deadlines.
• Must pass a background check.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
